Here is a picture of our Emma Veronica.  We decided to use Cryo-Cell to bank our baby's stem cells because of the security of knowing that if we ever needed to help her we had her stem cells for treatment or a cure.  Cryo-Cell was very competitively priced and explained in detail everything that would happen.  Shipping the cells after birth was so very easy and the phone help line explained everything to make it a simple experience so Daddy didn't have anything to worry about the day Emma was born.  I hope Emma will never have to use this gift that she received from Grandma and Grandpa.  This is truly the Gift of Life that anyone can purchase for their Child.

Lilly Marie was born on January 3, 2004. She was 5 1/2 week early and we did not have a kit. So on the same day that I went into labor my husband and the nurse were running around finding parts to make a homemade kit.

With an extensive history of heart problems and diabetes in my family we wanted to find a way to protect our children when they are grown and may have to face these problems.  Both children have their cord blood stored at Cryo-Cell.  We hope it is never needed, but it does give us some peace of mind knowing that we have this kind of medical technology available that may one day save their lives.

Here's a picture of our little Cryo-Cell boy! Andy is 4 now, very social and quite the entertainer. My in-laws had seen a documentary on cord blood storage and suggested we check it out. It was a novel idea to us at the time, but there were many factors that contributed to our choice. My family has a history of cancer and my husband's family has a history of diabetes, leukemia, and heart disease. Besides, our first two children are pretty much grown (there was a 17-year gap before Andy) and we figured there just might be a reason Andy came along when cord blood storage was an option. The reason I chose Cryo-Cell for my Cord Blood storage is due to the fact that I was 40 years old when she was born and neither her father nor I have any other children that Aubrey could potentially have as possible blood/organ donor match.

Thanks to the reasonable cost of Cryo-cell we were able to store Caroline's umbilical cord blood. I did an exhaustive search and found Cryo-Cell to be a dependable company as well as affordable. I feel even more that way today and I am thrilled with the decision we made. We were blessed with Caroline after I suffered with five pregnancy losses, one occurring in the second trimester. My anxieties that something might happen to my precious girl are alleviated with the fact that we stored Caroline's umbilical cord blood. She is so healthy and such a big girl!

This is our baby Dylan who just turned 1 year. We chose to save his cord blood because God forbid anything were to ever happen to him, we want to know that we did everything to protect him. Also, by the time he is grown up we can only imagine what they will be able to do with stem cells!

This is Jillian, she was born June 14, 1999 and was the first baby of Knox Community Hospital to ever have her cord blood stored. We chose Cryo-Cell due to much research. We decided to store her cord blood as I am adopted and do not know much of my family’s medical history.

We are so blessed that she—and us are very healthy but we also wanted insurance for the future and peace of mind. My OB/GYN decided to store their baby’s blood 2 months later!

Cryo-Cell was recommended to us by a close friend who is an RN at a cancer treatment hospital. When I read about cord blood storage while I was pregnant with my AlexZander, I knew this was the best gift I could give my son and myself. I try to encourage everyone I meet that this is a great investment in you child’s future and health, even if they decide to donate it.

Madeline and Daniel are 4 and 2 now. We banked their cord blood when they were born. We still have a lot to learn about potential uses for cord blood. I hope to never have to use theirs, but maybe by the time they are adults, science may have found a way to use cord blood to treat or prevent such common disease like diabetes and heart disease.
