Donor Trust Program

Potentially saving a loved one’s life is priceless.
And sometimes, free.

At Cryo-Cell Cord Blood Bank , we believe every family should have access to the medical miracle of stem cell therapy, should the need arise. But not everyone can afford to pay for the collection, processing and preservation of their newborns’ precious umbilical cord blood cells.

Our Donor Trust Program, established in January 2005, provides families with both a medical and financial need the opportunity to collect, store and release their stem cells without charge. A “medical need” is defined as, “First- or second-degree relative to the donor who has been diagnosed with a disease that can be treated or cured with a stem cell transplant” (requires a referral letter from their physician). “Financial need” is defined as, “A family currently on public financial assistance.”

While some companies offer to collect the samples at no charge to the donor, they then sell the blood to the recipient’s insurance company at current public bank prices ($15,000-$25,000). As a public service, Cryo-Cell Cord Blood Bank collects, processes, banks and releases the cells without any charge to the donor or recipient, whatsoever. We consider it a pleasure and our social responsibility.
